The Futility Of An Ipswich Schoolyard Session

Sometimes, no matter how optimistic you are, a session is cut short by the changing elements and even as we jumped the gate into this small yard spattered with the usual upsettingly tiny primary school playground furniture the rain began to fall.
The boys got a plastic bench and placed it atop a small rise in one corner of the playground and got to work before their wheels begun to slip and slide on the ever increasingly wet tarmac.
Inevitably, as the misty rain thickened and coated every exposed surface with a thin, slippery layer of O2 the session ground to a halt. We chatted for a while in the shelter of a lean-to shed roof in the corner of the yard, but with the BBC weather app showing me the sunny symbol over Bury St. Edmunds for the afternoon and evening, I returned with Harley to play in the bowl before a refugee fund-raising event kicked off later in the evening.
