Zombieland Skatepark - a small, indoor wooden bowl-based park, jammed at the end of a group of industrial units surrounded by car breakers was always going to struggle in the summer months. Even in the UK the weather can be pretty sunny from time to time and when the option is there, skating in the sun always trumps an indoor park!
So to help sustain this important part of the region's skate scene, local skaters and the park's owner held a couple of fundraiser jams over recent weeks.
It was announced this week that enough cash to keep the park open has been raised and a new 'investor' has helped the wish to refurbish the park and shop to finally become a reality.
I am always honoured and find myself humbled to be a part of such a strong community of like-minded goons.
